It's a BIG day here at CPC, and we hope you are here!
We will start with worship services at 10:30am, and what's exciting about this Sunday?
1) Pentacost: According to the Day of Pentecost story in Acts 2:1-13, God gave the gift of the Holy Spirit to empower witnesses to the resurrection. Sounds from heaven, cosmic language, the rush of a mighty ruach (wind, spirit, breath) invaded the house in which the apostles gathered, and appeared to them as a burning fire. So, on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit descending upon us to inspire the church’s proclamation of Christ’s rising and to empower its mission and ministry to the world. (See Acts 2:1-13; see also Joel 2:28-32.)
2) Baptism: We have two! This Sunday, included in worship will be the Sacrament of Baptism, in which we remember God's promise that He will be with us through all.
3) Confirmation: We have 5 Confirmands! We will witness and support the culmination of many months of learning, study and exploration by members of CPC's 2024-2025 Confirmation Class as they publicly profess their faith. As a congregation, we will affirm our love for our youth, and continued support while they grow in their faith.
4) Spring Picnic: After worship, we will have our intergenerational, fun for all ages, annual spring picnic (outside, weather permitting). There will be grilled hot dogs and burgers, beverages, dessert, and pot-luck side dishes, plus games and activities. And lots of conversation! All are welcome; it is free to attend with a good will offering to offset costs. Invite friends, family, and neighbors!
We can't wait to see you!
